About Us
Support Sistahs came about as a result of a very excited and animated conversation between Ann and Dee following Ann's wonderfully inspirational women's weekend retreat last October in which she experienced many profound insights and used these to develop plans to achieve new and exciting goals. A large part of this inspiration came from the camaraderie and trust she shared with the group of women - all from different walks of life, different ages, but all having the same purpose: to learn how to evolve in order to find joy and fulfilment in their lives.
However, we realized that a once-a-year experience like this, while very valuable, was not enough to provide enough momentum to keep these new plans in the forefront; the initial excitement fades and there's a tendency to fall back into "I'll do it later", and "I don't have enough time", and all those other stories we tell ourselves.
Hence Support Sistahs: a year-round, supportive community of women who share experiences, advice, resources, and who are willing to hold each other's hands through the tough stuff. We provide support and momentum, share a good laugh whenever possible, and remind each other to enjoy the journey!
Support Sistahs founders are:
Ann Cope
Ann is currently a self-employed software engineer/web developer and the owner of A State of Order, a professional organization company. Recently an empty nester, Ann is looking to find new directions, motivations, and inspirations with help from like-minded, caring communities of women and friends. In her spare time, Ann enjoys playing in a swing band, doing piano accompaniment work, getting her hands muddy on a pottery wheel, and finds immense satisfaction in spending as much time as she can outdoors year round, hiking, kayaking, camping and biking with her husband Rob.
Dee Short
Dee is a writer, graphic designer, crafter and appreciator of all things creative. Self-employed, she has a marketing communication practice, Dee Short Design, and enjoys writing and designing handmade and traditionally printed greeting cards. Two of her Support Sistahs' goals are to open her own Etsy shop, and to finally get a handle on finishing a children's book. She enjoys cooking, baking and trying new recipes out on her husband Doug (a very good sport). She and Doug live with two spoiled pet children: a 24 year old cockatiel named Arnie, and a four year old chorkie named Bea.
